STRIFE Sculptex's Testimonial Rapid Identical File Explorer On finding myself frustrated when needing to find which files had changed between two projects and also realizing that I had many duplicate files scattered across my hard disk, I decided to write an app that would help me out. The idea was that my app would generate a unique signature for each file and then I would be able to easily find duplicates, simply by sorting them list by the unique signature. The converse was true for differing files, even though a file may have the same size, date etc. if the signature is different, the file contents are different. This saves having to compare each file with each other byte by byte. I decided md5 was the best option for the siganture although a few other 'checksum' types are also generated for convenience and also to re-inforce the md5 value being unique. NEW VERSION 1.4.2.0 - released 17th October 2006 Files already in list now not duplicated!. NEW VERSION 1.4.1.0 - released 6th July 2006 Calculation of large files is now done in chunks. This allows you to stop a large file partway through by clicking Halt Calculation. File add progess counter now shown Various other bug fixes!
